Letter from the President

August 31, 2007

Dear Current and Future Members,

First off, I would like to thank everyone who attended our first General Membership Meeting of the year.  We had over 85 guests representing 65 different aviation corporations and organizations.  A special thanks goes out to Avitat Boca, Air Chef, World Fuel, NBAA, and Boca Aviation, all of whom played a role in sponsoring the meeting.

Now that we have brought life back into this organization, it is time to build and get involved.  As discussed at the last meeting, the SFBAA will be creating a newsletter that will be published every quarter.  For this and all other newsletters, we would like to receive input from our members concerning issues that you may be dealing with locally or on a broader level.  The purpose of this newsletter is to inform all of our members about local and national issues that can potentially affect our businesses or operations.  The more involved we can get our members, the more beneficial this organization will become.

The SFBAA has redesigned its current website www.sfbaa.org.  One of our new members, CK Advertising, has volunteered to help make this possible.  Our new site will be updated as often as possible to keep everyone aware of relevant topics.  The site also includes a directory of all current members, their contact information, and their websites.

As far as the user fees issues are concerned, I have been making strides for our organization to get involved. I have spoken with Senator Bill Nelson’s office and have let them know we are available to help.  They are going to keep us updated on all proceedings and will let us know when and how we can continue our support against user fees.  I have also been in touch with Claudia Blanton of NBAA.  She handles all government affairs for NBAA and I have given her our full support as well.  Once again, she will be in touch with us over the course of the next few weeks and let us know what we can do to help.

Hopefully everyone is as eager as I am to get this organization moving in the right direction.  The more our members contribute the more we will all get out of this organization.  Please respond to this email with suggestions for points to bring up in the newsletter, the contact information you would like us to publish on the website, as well as any other comments, questions, or concerns you may have.  Also, please let fellow aviation companies and flight departments know about the organization and do your best to get them involved, as we only have strength in numbers.  The membership application can be downloaded from the website and the annual dues are only $100.  I look forward to receiving your emails and thank everyone for their continued support.

Regards,

Jeff Ramsden

President
