The SFBAA is pleased to welcome John Stiles as the headline speaker for our next General Membership Meeting. The meeting will be held at Jet Aviation at the Palm Beach Airport (PBI) on Thursday, March 10 from 6 to 8pm.
John Stiles was a pilot in the United States Air Force (USAF). His first operational assignment was in Thailand in the RF-4C where he flew 192 combat missions. It was during this tour that he was shot down over Laos by a Mig-21 on January 20, 1972 and was subsequently rescued by Air America. For those of you who attended the meeting featuring Dan Cherry last year, John was the pilot referenced by Dan who had a remarkable story trying to evade capture in Vietnam.
John’s 24 year military career also included overseas tours in Germany, Korea, Japan, and Panama. John has flown several fighter aircraft, accumulating over 4,500 hours flying time and retired in 1993 as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Cocktails and Hors d'oeuvres will be provided by Silver Lining.
